Maintenance - Mechanic Technician

Shift: Must be willing to work a flexible shift!

Pay Rate: $19.00 - 20.00 / hr (Depending on Experience)

Our Opportunity:

As a Maintenance - Mechanic Technician you will assist all departments in repairing and maintaining all equipment. You will be responsible for expert repair and maintenance of the mechanical and basic electrical operational equipment in the clients facility.

Job duties will include the following:

Operate, control and execute the preventive and corrective maintenance of plant machinery.Comply with the established parameters of operation, safety and quality in order to ensure that the machines operate under the standards established, regulatory compliance, environmental laws and regulations in force.Implement and coordinate the tasks of mechanical maintenance corrective, preventive and improvements or mechanical equipment and machinery of high, medium and low complexity of the area of responsibility within the plant with the purpose of ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency and reliability of the same during the production processes, under the rules, process and safety procedures as established.Perform other related duties as requested

Essential Functions :

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.Examines parts to detect imperfections.Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Repairs mechanical equipment or replaces defective parts.Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.Welds small parts and does some fabricationRepairs some electronic equipment.Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Writes routine reports and correspondence; and speaks effectively individually or before groups of customers or employees.Operates a variety of hand tools to include but not limited to the following: power tools including but not limited to: pipe or tube cutters, power drills, power saws, pullers, wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, ratchets, grinders, pry bars, hammers, punches, measuring devices, and chisels. May operate welding machines, and cutting torches.

Work Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years mechanical/electrical experienceOne year certificate from college / technical school or 2 years related experience and or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability and willingness to work 12 hour shifts and overtime as neededDependable, conscientious and team player

Desirable:

Factory experience, preferably in the food industryStrong diagnosis, problem solving and trouble shooting skills and experience Journeymen licenseFamiliarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and bagging machines preferred.Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of the Mechanic Technician position, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also be able to work 10-12 hour shifts regularly with occasional extended shifts not to exceed 18 hours.
