Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Multi-Skill to join our Maintenance Team!
Job Summary
As an integral member of our team, the Maintenance Multi-Skill will perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on plant production equipment, utilities and building and grounds in multi-craft work environment. Support production operation by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Engage in continuous improvement activities to meet plant cost and downtime goals through improved preventative maintenance, equipment design and installation, storeroom operation, shop organization and training programs. Perform other duties as required to promote overall plant effectiveness.
Responsibilities & Duties
+ Execute preventive and corrective work orders including equipment inspections,
filter changes, lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs and enter data in CMMS system.
+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and fluid power machinery.
+ Install and laser align motors, pumps, vacuum blowers, rollers and other rotating equipment.
+ Assess machinery condition using a variety of measurement tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, gauges, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
+ Use computers to diagnose or replace PLC control system components and variable speed drives.
+ Perform basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical work to maintain facility.
+ Complete daily inspection rounds of plant utility equipment including chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, electrical equipment, and water treatment systems.
+ Perform routine inspections of fire protection system, operate during emergencies.
+ Operate welder, lathe, milling machine, drill press, table saw and other shop
equipment to repair and install machinery.
+ Perform extrusion system cleaning and re-assembly including barrels, screws, pipes, screen changers and melt pumps.
+ Assist in design, installation and startup of new capital equipment.
+ Perform housekeeping to keep maintenance shop work area clean and organized.
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree in Technical Field preferred.
+ Experience: 5 years Maintenance experience preferred; 2 plus years in plastic manufacturing or similar preferred.
+ An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.

Compensation:
+ The starting pay rate for this position is $35.89 per hour for qualified candidate. The shift differential for working nights is an additional $1.30 per hour.

Hours of Work:
+ 12 hour shift (7pm -7am) This is an every other weekend off shift schedule.
