Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner for a permanent, full-time role. This position is crucial for providing technical support and coordinating daily maintenance operations. You will assist with planning, installation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Standards: Ensure the highest safety standards for all maintenance planning operations. Maintenance Coordination: Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, schedule manpower, and organize shutdowns. Liaison Role: Maintain communication between operations and maintenance departments. CMMS Utilization: Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, purchase requisitions, backlog review, weekly schedules, PMs, and equipment database updates. Field Analysis: Visit job sites and analyze jobs in the field. Inventory Verification: Physically verify parts/store inventory and provide signed packing slips for admin receiving. Resource Verification: Verify the availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for execution. Cost Estimation: Estimate labor and material costs for each work order. Research & Improvement: Research new work and use feedback and history to improve job plans. Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, operators, and skilled trade groups. Procurement: Arrange materials and services through purchasing personnel and vendors. Meeting Facilitation: Facilitate weekly and daily planning meetings. On-Call Coverage: Provide on-call coverage and supervisor relief as necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications: Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Technologist, Trades certification, or equivalent. Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related industrial environment. Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent judgment and ability to explain and influence. Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and adapt quickly to change. Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and CMMS. Solid computer skills. Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of sawmill and planer mill equipment and issues within the wood products industry. Safety Commitment: Recognized for an uncompromising approach to safety. Adaptability: Ability to adapt, organize, and implement best business practices. Self-Motivated: Autonomous, motivated, and oriented towards excellence in results. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
