Summary:This position is accountable for providing technical/maintenance planning support to the maintenance. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning daily maintenance work and long term project work in an accurate and efficient manner. The Maintenance Planner will work in the plants SAP system to plan jobs for execution by the maintenance technicians, which includes preparing job packages, and ordering parts for the specific job. Other tasks include, but are not limited to analyzing a technical problem, field checking, specifying applicable equipment, developing cost and scheduling estimates
Essential duties and responsibilities:Describe the essential functions, tasks, duties and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done:
Work with all departments to meet or surpass the plant’s safety goals. Safety – must be on a Safety Team either as a co-leader or participant. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process Good knowledge of SAP Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair / preventive / predictive / design-out activities on the organization’s plant and equipment Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work Purchase all vital parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality Builds, supports and works in a team Review and distribute work, and determine progress of work and completion dates. Compile reports of progress of work, inventory levels, cost, and production problems. Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities. Communicate with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss necessary changes. Communicate with personnel, vendors, and customers resolve complaints or eliminate delays Owner of the KPI & 52 week plan in his area Provides leadership toward team development and participates in Green Room process improvement meetings. Mentors other Technicians in technical and leadership skills. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
