Maintenance Planner

Scope of the Position

To ensure that the work done during scheduled or unscheduled outages and major equipment overhauls are performed safely, efficiently and with no environmental impact.

This position is responsible for estimating and planning the maintenance work with all required materials, tools and resources (internal and external) available at the time of execution, as well as scheduling of planned work

What You Need To Be Successful

Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal preferred Maintenance Planner Certification/Designation preferred Minimum 7 years of experience in an industrial maintenance field, including experience related to asset reliability in a complex process facility (Chemical plant, Oil & Gas, etc.) Minimum 2 years of experience applying maintenance principles, concepts and practices related to maintenance planning, scheduling, coordination and optimization Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP preferred Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out work with minimal supervision Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various levels of staff, external clients and tradespeople on technical issues Knowledge of regulations relating to vessels, boilers and piping Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications Strong customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a team Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

 Key Responsibilities

Develop work plans and packages for maintenance work (corrective, PM and PdM) with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work. Prepare, read and interpret technical drawings for planned maintenance work. Source, order, stage and kit parts and materials as required for planned maintenance work. Create and audit task lists for repetitive work plans. Evaluate job feedback and make recommendations to improve future planned maintenance work. Make recommendations to assist in ensuring the major equipment PM program is effective. Schedule planned work, based on open work, priorities, forecasted available labor hours, and equipment availability. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Company policies, safety and environmental standards, and good housekeeping and Responsible Care® practices. Assist Maintenance Supervisor with break in, corrective and preventative maintenance activities to achieve plant objectives. Conduct field inspections and assessments. Identify, propose and implement miscellaneous maintenance improvement opportunities as a result. Validate and prioritize notifications and work orders with Operations, analyze and consolidate work requests. Perform administrative assignments as required.
