Job Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient procurement, delivery, and kitting of parts to improve equipment availability, maintenance efficiency, and employee safety. The Planner will develop and implement effective and efficient work control proposals, collaborating with Operations and the Maintenance/Engineering departments. The Planner will also maintain the integrity of the information in the Maintenance management system to achieve the assigned planning objectives and measure success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a comprehensive maintenance plan for all equipment to reduce downtime and increase efficiency. Plan all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and predictive maintenance. Maintain necessary maintenance parts inventory and order material as necessary. Procure and ensure delivery of all materials to meet maintenance schedules and requirements. Monitor and track the progress of maintenance tasks to ensure they are completed on time. Update status of work orders in the CMMS system. Seek out and evaluate new sources of suppliers to achieve department and plant financial and quality goals. Provide all departments with status of open requisitions. Coordinate and communicate with Materials/Receiving Department on receipt of purchase orders; resolve any discrepancies with vendors on quantity, pricing, or documentation. Assist in building daily/weekly schedules. Fill in for scheduler when necessary.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High School graduation or GED is required. College, Technical College or Trade Program is preferred. 2+ years’ experience in maintenance planning required. 1 year of procurement experience preferred. Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance background preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of a CMMS system and Microsoft Office. Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
