We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Planner at our Newark-Bellevue site in Newark, Delaware. The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within the Maintenance organization that identifies, collects, organizes, and documents work order job steps, resources, tools, and materials required to safely and effectively execute a maintenance scope of work. The Planner also maintains an appropriate backlog of effectively planned work ready for scheduling when maintenance resources are available.
This position reports to the Maintenance Leader.
Key Responsibilities:

Use knowledge of equipment hazards, failure modes, and maintenance restoration techniques to effectively build the necessary time, skills, tools, materials, activities, and sequence required to plan and execute the scope of work in a work order.
Screen each work order request for proper completion, discuss the details with the originating area, and ensure the work is clearly defined and properly authorized.
Review the work area for potential safety hazards and make appropriate notes in the job plan. Include any required safety procedures and standards in the work package.
Create a list of materials by quantity and type that are required to perform work requested. Develop and communicate material storage and staging plan and ensures job kits are prepared and ready before they are needed for the job.
Identify support needs for work orders such as sheet metal work, scaffolding, insulation removal, heavy equipment, rigging, etc.
Request quotes for ordering materials and services. Interact with vendors and suppliers as needed. Create and process requisitions for materials.
Develop estimate for craft hours, labor, and material cost for each work order.
Prepare work packages that include relevant procedures, special tools, job plan, work order, safety requirements, and materials. Deliver assembled work packages to the appropriate work groups before the work is to be implemented.
Audit work in progress for safety and adherence to the job plan. Resolve discrepancies with line supervision.
Review work orders with mechanics looking for any opportunities to improve planning accuracy.
Review all completed work orders to document completed work, record material used, return unused material to Stores, and determine craft hours spent versus the job plan estimate.
Participate in the routine maintenance prioritization, planning, and scheduling meetings.
Routinely meet with the Maintenance Coordinator to ensure work order priorities are established and the appropriate work packages are completed and available.
Maintain sufficient planned maintenance backlog for assigned work crews. Conduct backlog reviews and maintain the quality of the data in SAP by ensuring that completed jobs are removed from the backlog, status changes are reflected, and that proper codes are used to classify work.
Develop and archive job plans and maintain the job plan library. Improve the data in the job plan library based on job audits and reviews of the completed work.
Maintain accuracy of equipment bill of material database in SAP, as well as electronic and paper equipment files. Set up missing BOMs for equipment as jobs are planned
Interface with Reliability Engineering to continuously improve the quality of the information in PM’s.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 5 years supporting maintenance and working within a work management process in an industrial environment, 10+ years of experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of SAP; expertise in transactions associated with maintenance planning preferred.
Experience using software tools as appropriate; Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), Prometheus, MS Project.
Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) experience preferred, including understanding of Management of Change and how PSM and MOC relate to the Planning process
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and estimate.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance team
Self-motivated with the ability to execute with minimal supervision
