Maintenance Planner

Job Responsibilities:

Works to create, document, and organize job plans for preventive/planned maintenance activities including instructions, specifications, special tools and estimated parts required.Utilizes CMMS to drive all aspects of scheduling preventive, planned, and interruptible tasks. This includes schedule coordination with operations, maintenace supervision, and outside vendors.Works with the Maintenance Materials Coordinator to ensure adequate materials are on hand for all planned activities.Works with the Maintenance Materials Coordinator to drive job kitting for PM and other planned maintenance as applicable.Assists the plant engineer in developing and coordinating plans for repairs or installation of new equipment, machinery, or buildings and capital projectsModifies PM instructions as required to be comprehensive and accurate.Maintains all technical documentation logs, drawing files, and equipment history files.Maintains Tier 1 board and informational boards to aid in plant communications.Supply all required data to support initiatives.Provide CMMS training to others within the organization.Works safely and complies with all HBC policies.Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

Work Experience            

One to two years related experience and/or training or a combination of education and maintenance experience.

Education                                     

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, associate degree (AA) preferred.

Functional/Technical Knowledge               

Competent with CMMS (Maintenance software, and Microsoft applications, i.e. Excel and Project.)Ability to read technical documentation/drawingsWork with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Apply concepts such as fractions,  percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Write routine reports and correspondenceInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.

Health/Safety/Environmental/Housekeeping:

Abides by company rules and policies and procedures.Understands that performing job tasks in a safe manner is the highest priority.Reports any unsafe condition or act immediately to Supervision , Leader or HSE Manager.Fills out ‘Near Miss’ paperwork on any unsafe condition or act.Participates in daily pre shift safety talk.Understands company safety initiates and acts as facilitator on the floor to promote those initiatives.May be asked to participate in accident/incident reviews and develop corrective actions.Responsible for housekeeping and 6S in his or her respective area of work or areas as directed by the departmental supervisor.Operates processing equipment necessary to handle waste and perform routine maintenance and housekeeping functions on plant structures and equipment.Handles inbound and outbound hazardous material/waste shipments and process chemicals subject to written supervisory authorization.Responsible for segregating, storing, and organizing hazardous materials/wastes on site according to Federal, State, & Municipal regulations.Must be knowledgeable and capable of responding to emergency situations.

Working Conditions:

Maintenance Planners typically work in an indoor office setting but may need to spend time in the field conducting inspections and supervising maintenance activities. They may also be required to work outside normal business hours in order to handle emergencies or ensure that maintenance work does not interfere with regular operations.

The work of a Maintenance Planner can be physically demanding, as they may need to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and perform other tasks that require strength and flexibility. However, the rewards of this job can be great, as successful and efficient maintenance planning can help businesses save time and money while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
