Maintenance Planner and Scheduler

The Maintenance planner scheduler under the direction of the Maintenance Senior Supervisor ensures the safe and efficient execution of the planning work process within the Biola plant.  This position works with both production employees and maintenance employees to plan and organize effective work plans for maintenance and small project activities throughout the site.  The individual helps to establish priority on workflow planning and responds to work orders and maintenance requests when necessary.  Additional responsibilities include ensuring the safe and effective implementation of plans to improve maintenance / reliability activities, effective scheduling of maintenance resources and oversee the fixed cost budget associated with repair and maintenance spending. Understanding and proficiency of various SAP business roles responsibilities in both Maintenance and Purchasing are key for success in this role.

 

What you will do:
 

Promote and continually improve the safety culture of the work group and site. Develop leadership and interpersonal skills set to fill in for existing Maintenance Supervisor. Assist site leadership to develop and implement an overall maintenance and reliability improvement strategy for the site. Schedule maintenance employees to work on projects, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.  Set appropriate priorities on work scheduling based on production needs and criticality of open work orders. Assist with the hiring and use of contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on company property and equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently. Work with corporate functions as well as local employees to oversee and utilize the on-site system to track projects, purchases, preventative maintenance and work orders (SAP system). Develop and execute small projects in order to improve plant safety, operation and reliability. Assist in the purchase, design, and installation of equipment in work areas. Responsible for maintaining an efficient parts and supply inventory. Maintain a safe and clean work environment for the maintenance department. Work with all plant employees in seeking ways to eliminate waste and inefficiencies throughout the plant.  Maintain and promote positive team relationships within the Maintenance team and the site employees.

 

What you will bring:
 

Bachelor's degree required, preferrably in engineering; experience may be considered in lieu of education. Highly proficient with SAP software or other CMMS. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications. 2+ years of experience required, preferrably 5+ years of maintenance/operational experience. Strong leadership skills and able to work well with other employees. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple improvement initiatives.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range $56,500 - $105,000/annually. This range is estimated for Maintenance Planner and Scheduler in Kerman, California. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
