What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: The basic function of this role is to develop planned work packages for maintenance and possibly turnaround repair work and improvement projects base on priorities established by the client. The job plans must fully satisfy the notification of scope and include all material, services, resources, and appropriate scheduling logic between individual operations or tasks. This position must ensure that enough work is planned to satisfy production needs as well as the available work-hour capacity.
 

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Prepare the detailed plans necessary to safely and efficiently execute maintenance work that has been selected, prioritized, and approved by the gate keeperPlan to appropriate detail including work hour and cost estimates, material requirements, access needs, etc.Planning and scheduling in coordination with site supervision.Create and maintain task lists for repetitive jobsOutline detailed work instructions for work execution, outlining, safety advice, resources, materials, tools, and servicesEnsure that jobs are planned in a timely manner to support the requested notification requirement datesEnsure job resources are obtained and orders are set to the ready to schedule statusCreate and maintain bill of material (BOM)Review and purge the backlog on a weekly basisClose out jobs by entering notification history and technically completing orders on a weekly basisReview completed shop papers and update the associated task listCreate and maintain maintenance plansSchedule maintenance work once it has been planned

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.  

Certification: TWIC Card is required. 

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in heavy industrial maintenance and 2+ years mechanical planning experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Computer proficiency for communications, failure analysis, and maintenance systems

Strong ability for effective problem solving

Ability to read drawings, P&ID, Isometric, Schematics, etc.

Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Strong ability for effective problem solving

Experience with maintenance, manufacturing, and processing areas of an industrial maintenance environment

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products especially Excel

Supervisory experience or mechanical craft experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
