Maintenance Outage Planner/Scheduler Advisor contributes to the effective operation of the Maintenance Department by implementation, expansion, and upkeep of the GPI Maintenance Process [Predictive Maintenance Program (PDM)]. Work in conjunction with Maintenance and Operations to coordinate repairs on equipment as needed for the reduction of unplanned downtime.
Responsible for planning and scheduling all work assigned to the maintenance department. This position will drive improvements in efficiency of the maintenance work process. The role is critical in maintaining good communication and coordination between maintenance, operations, contractors, vendors, and other internal departments. This role is also responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality job packets, SOPs, and data integrity in the CMMS. Accountable for the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities and any other functions deemed necessary for continuous operations of the facility.
In addition, this position receives and reviews each work order for completeness, validity of the priority, clarity and accuracy of information. Other activities include estimating maintenance jobs by showing sequence of steps, number of man-hours and materials required. The position also plans and schedules mill maintenance including daily and annual downtime.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following
Partners with Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure efficient planning and coordination of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) maintenance work. Responsible for daily and annual outage planning in designated area. Prioritize maintenance activities based on criticality classification and resource availability Create a maintenance forecast with upcoming activities and required resources Properly schedule maintenance tasks (level workload with available recourses) Ensure high efficiency of maintenance support to operations by collaborating with gatekeeper and maintenance supervisors inside of the Maintenance and Operations meeting Revise work requests accurately to define issues and failures Coordinate and plan material requirements for maintenance task execution Work with Maintenance Supervisors and Stockroom Supervisor to accomplish correct stocking levels Define the right stock level of spare parts in the plant to balance proper preventative maintenance stock level while still providing proper stock levels for equipment failures Manage the work order backlog, provide feedback to the maintenance supervisors and gatekeeper Work with the maintenance team to develop and improve preventive maintenance programs. This includes creating new equipment bills of materials, parts kitting, work duration, and PM frequency Effectively maintain planned work order backlog to ensure it is greater than two weeks within regular work hours. Create and maintain BOM’s and PM’s and procedures Effectively manages safety plans Ensures all PMs are presented to the Maintenance and Operations team for scheduling. Ensures Contracted PM’s and Mill PM’s are recorded. Participates in Maintenance weekend duty rotation. Occasionally backfills for Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Assistant Superintendent – Maintenance.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related training and experience Minimum of 5 (five) years of Maintenance experience Minimum of 2 (two)years on Maintenance Planning experience with knowledge of recognize maintenance planning practices.SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good technical reading skills, basic math skills, and computer skills. Good organizational skills and interpersonal relationship skills. Prefer experience within the paper or heavy industrial setting. Possess intermediate, mechanical, electrical and automation skills and good analytical skills to efficiently assign work and audit for effectiveness. Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Office Demonstrated knowledge of reliability concepts and application Ability to read schematics. Ability to estimate man hours for maintenance work (electrical and mechanical) Quality orientation and attention to detail Problem analysis and resolution: a demonstrated ability to recognize and solve problems Strong interpersonal and communication skills An ability to manage multiple priorities Strong team player
