Maintenance Planning Specialist

The salary range for this role is:

$64,718.69 - $106,763.83

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Planning Specialist is responsible for all aspects of planning and scheduling work for the Maintenance Team as well as any contractors or vendors that fall under the scope of the Maintenance Team.

It is their responsibility to plan and schedule in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with all food safety and regulatory guidelines on a continual basis. The responsibilities of the planner encompass all areas of the Modesto site.  The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for maintaining, updating, and improving the SAP plant maintenance system, creating PM tasks, entering new assets and maintaining accurate equipment BOMs. The Maintenance Planner will also purchase non-MRO parts and manage assigned contract service purchase orders. This position will lead special projects in conjunction with engineering and operations. The Planner will advise and mentor the Maintenance leads.

Manage parts spend under budget and accurately forecast purchased maintenance spendingAssign and schedule preventative maintenance work orders, and work requests, through a computerized maintenance platform.Responsible for monitoring, assigning, tracking, and updating emergency corrective work orders in a timely manner.Must have the technical competence and aptitude to continually evaluate and enhance Preventative Maintenance program and processes when necessary and based on needs such as equipment changes, upgrades, and as required by the business.Evaluate the preventative maintenance program for accuracy and validity by partnering with department leads, OEM manufacturers, consulting equipment manuals, and communicating with operations partners to ensure the equipment is being maintained at a satisfactory level and all aspects of equipment are being serviced at the appropriate intervals.Keep records of repeat failures and take action to enhance and optimize the preventative maintenance program when trends are noticed or deficiencies in proactive/preventative work start to impact operational run times or efficiencies. Optimize and update preventative maintenance plans and strategies when appropriate.Coordinate with production schedulers, department leads, outside contractors and the maintenance teams to accommodate and arrange work performed by the department; this includes preventative maintenance, repairs, and projects ranging from the smallest to largest scales.Maintain records and present reports regarding work backlog, manpower usage, schedule variances as per the direction of management and in accordance with the maintenance team’s Key Performance Indicators.Track equipment asset numbers and locations to assure all assets are accounted for, and update asset tracking when new assets are introduced to the site.Create preventative maintenance plans for new equipment introduced to the site.Participate in and create any follow up work requests from site audits, quality walks, etc.Quality and Food Safety – Overall responsible for finished product quality, food safety and legality, within functional area.Maintains standards and adjusts processes to meet Del Monte standards and customer expectations.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in applicable or related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Must have strong SAP Inventory Systems experience.At least 3-5 years of related experience in a comparable industry.Must possess prior working experience (minimum 3 years) within a food manufacturing setting or comparable industry.Prior experience with a CMMS or PM tracking systems preferred.Strong mechanical background.Ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization. Strong partnership with production planners, maintenance teams and outside contractors will be required.Professionalism and strong communication skills required for day-to-day work, as well as for frequent interaction, coordination, scheduling, and planning with outside contractors and partners.Must understand and abide by HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and industrial safety practices.Experience in leading maintenance departments required.Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.Strong verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical thinkingExcellent organization skills and the ability to multi-taskStrong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment.Capable of handling multiple tasks daily when required.Ability to work in cross-functional teams and coordinate well with others.
