Maintenance Project Lead

Provide planning and leadership for a variety of industrial maintenance projects to improve machine performance and to maintain the facility.

Responsibilities

Computerized Maintenance Management System

Assist in the selection and implementation of maintenance software system

transfer of data from existing system to preserve the history of maintenance repairs

establish maintenance reports and KPI statistics for reporting to plant management

investigate and implement new processes related to the capabilities of the new software

assist with training maintenance personnel

assist other sites in implementing software

Energy Management and Cost Reduction

Establish energy cost reduction projects to present to management and

manage projects from inception to completion.

Provide energy management at this and possibly other corporate sites

Reliability-based Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance

Establish reliability maintenance procedures to optimize maintenance processes and improve machine performance in a cost-effective way

Establish predictive maintenance activities utilizing infrared temperature scanning, vibration analysis and oil sampling analysis

Lead modifications and continuous improvement of existing equipment to improve reliability and accuracy

Investigate operational problems and work with multi-functional teams to implement equipment solutions.

Drive reduction of losses through breakdown analysis and other appropriate continuous improvement tools.

Provide and implement engineering solutions to achieve the quality and production availability targets of the plant as it relates to production equipment

Capital Projects and Project Management

Plan and execute capital and maintenance projects from inception to completion including machine relocations, machine rebuilds and retrofits and facility repairs and upgrades.

Adhere to corporate policies and procedures to obtain approval for capital projects

Management of project installations through supervision of vendors and contractors for all aspects of project execution, technical leadership across internal groups and coordination of functional teams for execution of project work.

Facilities Maintenance

Evaluate and monitor buildings, infrastructure and facility systems for repair and upgrade projects

Utilize maintenance personnel and contractors to maintain, repair and operate facilities systems

Work with state and city agencies to conform with local laws and regulations, licensing and permitting requirements

Experience and Skill Required

5-7 or more years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of experience and education (technical degree or apprenticeship)

Previous Lean, Six Sigma, 5S and TPM experience

Knowledge in computer applications to produce required output (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.).  Previous experience with MS suite, Autocad, maintenance software and SAP a plus.

Accurately read and comprehend moderately complex material (instruction manuals, procedural manuals, warning labels, electrical, hydraulic and part drawings, blueprints, charts, technical repair manuals)

Ability to write to record basic information (record maintenance activities, completing forms, creating procedures, etc.).

Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to resolve issues and/or to collaborate on work procedures, including team projects and kaizens.

Communicate with external contacts by telephone, writing, or in person for ongoing service, diagnosing issues, acquiring information or ordering parts by providing detailed information concerning equipment repairs, issues, or questions.

Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

Knowledge of and ability to solve unique problems that are diversified and involved.

Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

Detail-oriented, conscientious and able to work independently

Proven ability to multi-task effectively and produce accurate, timely results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Consistently demonstrate a positive approach, team-player attitude and professional demeanor
