Maintenance Reliability Engineer
Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bedford GPS on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer will be responsible for improvements to production equipment and maintenance systems to increase reliability of the overall system. Work is of a technical nature and may involve basic engineering skills as well as data interpretation to identify opportunities for improvement. The Maintenance Reliability Engineer will supervise a medium size group of multi-function skilled trade employees (mechanical and electrical) in an area of work which involves the repair, maintenance and construction of plant and equipment (weekend & projects). 

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Effectively Pre-Task plan, direct, and supervise skilled trades maintenance, construction and improvement projects 

Utilize Maximo to maintain and continually improve system reliability 

Monitor PM system for its effectiveness in improving reliability your area of responsibility 

Achieve PM system plant compliance goals for your area of responsibility  

Develop and implement a plan to effectively apply Predictive Technologies to improve reliability 

Utilize Maximo for scheduling PM’s and corrective work orders 

Ability to give direction and hold skilled trades workforce accountable to expectations 

Responsible to assist in the diagnosis of equipment malfunctions 

Coordinates with production to complete equipment repairs, and PM’s during opportunistic and scheduled downtime events

Assist in the Root Cause Analysis of equipment downtime in your area of responsibility 

Develop Standardized Work task instruction sheets (TIS) for equipment repairs 

Support Maintenance Team in the Business Plan Deployment (BPD) Process to drive continuous improvement

Function as department GMS principle basketweave representative leading implementation of element improvement initiatives across all shifts

Support the Maintenance Business Team in implementing & adhering to Bedford GPS policies and procedures

Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

2 years of maintenance or manufacturing experience

Mechanical engineering experience or degree

Database experience

Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift

High level of analytical ability where problems are complex 

Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings 

Knowledge of basic math and engineering concepts  

Strong oral and written communication skills 

Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts 

Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field

2+ years of Maintenance or Manufacturing experience

Database experience (MAXIMO)

Training in skilled trades area or equivalent technical training

Knowledge of and ability to effectively use electrical control and other engineering related computer software
