Maintenance & Repair Worker III (MCSS-2024-21098)

 

Bowhead seeks a Maintenance & Repair Worker, General III to join our team in Dahlgren, VA in support of our NSWC Dahlgren Facilities Maintenance Support contract. The Maintenance & Repair Worker, General III is responsible for general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. The Maintenance & Repair Worker, General III requires advanced skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work. The Maintenance & Repair Worker, General III will keep the Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered. 

Responsibilities  Replace electrical receptacle covers, switches; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, toilets, painting structures and equipment Replacing damaged sheet rock, paneling, floor tiles, and ceiling tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks. Replaces broken window panes. Perform general maintenance on equipment or machinery. Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment, painting, plumbing and masonry. Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions. Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations. Performs work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) May be required to perform considerable walking, pushing, lifting and standing for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Packages between 50 pounds and 150 pounds should be handled utilizing the "two-person" lift technique. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Qualifications  High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Operations and Maintenance services supporting a military base or civilian installation. Minimum of four (4) years' experience in construction renovation or related activities. Possession of a valid driver's license. A minimum of one (1) year of successful (related) experience and performance in a military or civilian workforce preferred. Emergency Management/Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience, preferred.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently have a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
