Responsibilities would include lawn, vehicle, and building maintenance. Incumbent will determine if the issue can be resolved internally or by an outside vendor, including the County. Incumbent must have strong organizational skills, ability to complete appropriate paperwork and possess good leadership and communication skills. Performs skilled work in the maintenance and repair of Jackson County Health Department building. Responsibilities would include routine inspections of premises and equipment, performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs and maintenance, installing or assembling furniture and equipment and overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary. Incumbent needs to be skilled in the use of hand and power tools, ability to take apart equipment or devices to remove or replace defective parts, ability to use common tools such as hammers, drills and wrenches and be able to physically handle and move around supplies, furniture or equipment. This position will work closely with the Director of the Jackson County Maintenance Department to identify responsible party of repair and will notify supervisor and Business Manager of their findings. Incumbent will be a contact to receive notifications for the Security Control Company, generator and after-hours general question messaging. Responsible for contacting supervisor, local executive management and authorities, if needed. Operates lawn maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, sprinklers and blowers. Understands how to water and prune shrubs and plants. Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures, and hardscape walkways. Properly store and handle all equipment and tools. Plant flowers, bushes, plants and shrubs, mow grass, prune trees and shrubs or remove debris. Monitor and treat ant beds and wasp nests around public entrances and entire building. Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of all County/State vehicles. Works closely with the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department to schedule oil changes, tire repairs or other repairs, as needed. Keeps vehicles available for use by inspecting, completes preventative maintenance and completes full detail of vehicles. Full detail of a vehicle would include washing exterior vehicles and windows, wiping down interior along with vacuuming interior. Works closely with dental in moving mobile dental unit to each school as services are needed. Incumbent will communicate with supervisor on needs request from Program Managers regarding other repairs or maintenance needed at other sites for Jackson County Health Department services. Responsible for taking the deposit daily to the bank. Serves as lead in shelter set-up and break-down of special needs shelter. Responsible for set-up and arrangement of multi-purpose room as needed for meetings. All other duties as assigned.
