General Description
The Maintenance Scheduler (MS) position is a direct report to the Port Maintenance Manager (PMM) for the Seaport Facilities Maintenance Division. It focused on overseeing and managing work orders, asset management systems, and coordinating maintenance and repair activities across various departments.
The MS position coordinates the work for the Work Order Specialist in the FM Division at Port Everglades. Primary activities and responsibilities include specialized technical work in the AiM and FA computerized systems for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating maintenance tasks. This involves creating both corrective and preventive maintenance work orders for Facilities Management (FM) personnel and contractors. The AiM work order management system facilitates digital scheduling, tracking, and oversight of corrective and preventive maintenance activities, as well as asset management, ensuring that all work is efficiently monitored and executed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires two (2) years in preventative maintenance and equipment repairs within area of assignment or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses- Ability to secure and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License at the time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
- Ability to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification card (TWIC) within 60 days of employment and for the duration of employment (if required).
- Ability to secure and maintain a valid Seaport Business Purpose Credential for the duration of employment.

-Manage the Fleet Asset Database (FA) and the AiM computerized maintenance and asset management system, ensuring accurate scheduling, tracking, and monitoring of corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
-Coordinate the Work Order Specialist, ensuring that customer inquiries regarding pending jobs, deliverables, and work statuses are addressed promptly and professionally.
-Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure that all materials, tools, and labor are available prior to work order assignments, facilitating smooth and uninterrupted work execution.
-Work closely with the Port’s Facilities Maintenance Assistant Directors, Project Managers, Skilled Trades Supervisors, and others to coordinate scheduling, prioritize work requests, and optimize manpower utilization.
-Participate in regular scheduling meetings to discuss operational plans, downtime, and resource allocation.
-Review work order schedules for potential conflicts or delays and proactively address any issues.
-Report schedule discrepancies to the Facilities Maintenance Assistant Directors and Project Managers.
-Conduct site visits as needed to verify asset conditions, document job requirements, and ensure work is completed according to plan.
-Assist in providing training on the work management system and related tools to trades staff, ensuring that all personnel are proficient in system usage and workflow processes.
-Coordinate with FM staff to finalize assigned work orders, conducting field visits to confirm the completion of work and identify any issues requiring rescheduling or redistribution of workloads.
-Review and resolve outliers or exceptions in work order reports by investigating discrepancies and taking corrective action to ensure timely completion.
-Compile and analyze statistical data related to work orders, generating reports for management review.
