Te Kowhiringa | The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Service Person to join our Tauriko team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of Parks and Reserves facilities contracted to Downer NZ. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining public amenities such as toilets, BBQs, bins, and park furniture and structures. Your role will also require you to:

Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of park facilities to ensure a high standard of service. Perform litter collection and upkeep of public areas to enhance the community's enjoyment. Adhere to Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) standards by managing activities for superior safety performance during daily operations. Undertake hazard identification and document findings prior to starting work on site. Be vigilant of the public in work areas and assess the appropriateness of activities to maintain public safety. Liaise with clients and the public to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.

We are looking for candidates with who have a positive attitude and display a great willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks. You will also have:

Prior work experience in facility maintenance and litter services will be highly regarded A current full Class 1 drivers' licence  A full Class 2 driver’s license is highly desirable Experience with a variety of equipment, such as water blasters and blowers. Strong communication skills and discretion when interacting with the public. Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a team-oriented mindset.
