Maintenance Skilled Laborer
Overview Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in assigned area. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An addition three (3) years of experience in maintenance is required. COMPUTER SKILLS None. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Experience in carpentry, plumbing and/or electrical is helpful. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
