Duties include:

Clean and Keep orderly assigned buildings.

Duties involve a combination of the following:

Sweeping Mopping Removing trash and other refuse Maintain outside of buildings and yards.

Make minor repairs and does preventative maintenance on building.

Duties involve a variety of functions to include but not limited to:

Painting Using plaster compound to repair holes/cracks in walls. Hanging doors and installing door locks, repairing doorframes Replace floor tiles. Make minor plumbing repairs. Replacing lighting fixtures Repairing fixtures furniture Check that fire safety equipment is in working order. Interact appropriately with adolescents with mental health and behavior problems.

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED desired. Prior experience in building maintenance. Must possess good writing and communication skills. A valid NYS Driver’s License is a plus. Demonstrated experience and competence in previous employment. Compliance with health regulations for physical examination and Mantoux testing. Be team players. Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization.

Maintenance person will report directly to Program Manager and will assume other maintenance duties as needed.
