Maintenance Specialist

Pay Range

$20.36 - $32.64

Purpose

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to maintaining and improving the Distribution Center’s facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Specialist must be able to perform certain maintenance functions and when required coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors in the performance of service, tasks and projects common to the role.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in General Business (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)Three years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the companyExperience managing a Maintenance departmentStrong administrative skills with advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Skilled in developing project presentations and updatesMust be detailed-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgement to solve problemsDemonstrated ability to work as a business partner in a collaborative environmentAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines while working in a changing and fast-paced environment

Essential Functions

Assist the General Manager with day to day processes involving facility maintenanceMust possess the ability to analyze and determine HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical and Structural needs and perform basic HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical and Structural repairs or oversee the work of service providersMaintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), data and file retentionReceive, analyze, and dispatch routine and emergency maintenance/repair service requests for the Distribution CenterRespond to emergency service calls by dispatching the appropriate vendor and communicating appropriate information to the leadership, vendors and service providersOversee preventive maintenance programs and adjust/create as needed to ensure proper maintenance of equipmentDevelop and leverage partnerships with vendors to ensure the Distribution Center receive timely and cost effective services possibleMonitor and adjust spending based on budget and facility prioritiesReview, approve, and verify completion of service requestsCoordinate and manage the relationship with Store Operations and Facilities Maintenance to ensure that they are appropriately informed on facility projectsMonitor timely completion of 'Punch list' (errors & omissions); verify and document the substantial completion and acceptance of warranty work by contractors

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

This position is hourly, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week

Assist in dispatching and follow-up on emergency service calls after typical business hours, including but not limited to weekends.Limited travel required including air and car travelWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

. Physical Work – Ability exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
