• Maintain Gate Gourmet’s fleet database, capturing all vehicle specific data as well as maintenance and repair cost and other operating cost, with utmost accuracy
• Support cost projections based on existing database for budget purposes
• Create, maintain and assure accuracy of DOT recording and filing requirements
• Work with regional fleet managers to:
Improve overall fleet cost
Determine optimum capacity at individual facilities and support eventual moves of assets
Flag potential company or regulatory compliance issues
• Maintain and control major repair authorization and justification process
• Research and suggest optimum repair strategies, (including make or buy analysis) I don’t understand “make or buy” analysis
• Involvement with Procurement department to determine regional or nationwide parts and fluids contracts and vendor selection
• Liaise with corporate EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) officers to ensure compliance and address rapid response in case of emergencies or local calamities involving fleet
• Maintain a contact database for vendors, Gate Gourmet unit, fleet management and regulatory agencies to support own work as well as support to field units
• Manage and administer in detail the fleet management systems and all daily administrative duties for the fleet and garages
• Perform procurement administration like purchase orders in SAP and A/P duties for home base only
• Keep Human Resources (HR) informed on requirements and changes to regulations in terms of insurance, DOT, uniform orders, etc. (home base only)
• Communicate with insurance and Procurement Department to secure timely order and / or replacement of registration plates, stickers, insurance and local and state taxes
• Support home base regional fleet manager in communication to home base staff (instructions, memos, training material, etc)
• Manage administration of new transportation staff (supporting time cards, security and airport access)
• Support national fleet manager in performing surveys to determine future fleet replacement strategies
• Track and control new fleet deliveries up to full operational use of assets
• Work with insurance companies to determine next year’s expected cost and risk
• Support Gate Gourmet’s Operations group in ad hoc events like new customer start ups or other operationally related events
QualificationsEducation:
Education
• High School Diploma
Work Experience:
• Previous experience in fleet managementT
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
• Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications
• Base knowledge of SAP, Kronos and Ultipro is a plus
• Hands-on attitude
• Ability to multi-task
• Sense of urgency and being able to manage own time accordingly
• Need to be able to work autonomously
Language / Communication Skills:
• Good communication skills needed, especially as most communication will have to be done by telecommunications
• Proficiency in Spanish or other common world languages is a plus
