Primary Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Specialist Staff will lead & maintain equipment modifications to comply with all safety, environmental & other regulatory compliances.
This position will also lead the development, implementation & continuous improvement of maintenance strategies & work management systems in the Maintenance Shop, delivering safe, cost effective & reliable equipment performance to ensure operational safety, cost control, reliability & production targets are met or exceeded.
Forming & maintaining good relationships with all external service providers & management team members is important for this position. Will assist & support the sites in implementing best in class maintenance systems &processes.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop & execute activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions & facilitating cost down initiatives related to improving product costs. These duties would include training & instruction of appropriate team member’s day-to-day floor support.
Assist in identification of unacceptable performance through analysis & acquired technical knowledge of the product & process including waste & cost reduction.
Assist in & learn process for prepare cost estimates, financially justifying project, prepare budgets, review design, supervise installation & commissioning. Assists in research of new equipment, systems & processes to advance plant operations.
Gain understanding & assist to ensure safety, environmental & other regulatory compliances by working with appropriate associates on EHS issues, following the implementation of MSR’s & improving the communication across all relevant departments.
Participate in contractor management process & periodically assist with & contractor’s work to ensure that safe work practices & standards operating procedures are followed.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 1st shift, on call weekend every 7 weeks
Education:
Bachelors degree, or in lieu of degree 9 or more years of experience working with multidisciplinary engineering/maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals
Experience:
4 or more years of experience working with multidisciplinary engineering/maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals
Previous experience with PLC's
Proven ability to gain results in a team environment
Equipment design experience and project engineering or project management role - Desired
Skills:
Computer literate in MS Office Suite, computerized layouts sheets & database management.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, team development & management skills.
Strong commitment to continuous improvement, safety & environmental protection.
Aptitude in mechanical, electrical & welding applications.
Ability to understand plant layouts, capital estimating, associate-man computations & tire manufacturing equipment processes.
