The Maintenance Superintendent ensures the efficient utilization of maintenance, engineering, and utility department’s resources to continually improve equipment reliability and optimize unit operating costs for the Vernon, TX site.

Maintain plant facilities for the manufacture of product. Manage maintenance and any related project costs to the overall benefit of the company. Provide the leadership to move from a reactionary repair mode to one that performs work in an orderly and proactive manner. Develops and continually improve maintenance management systems. Develops, adjusts, and maintains personnel development programs for all support staff to meet or exceed the objectives of both the operating plant and individual person. Develops and maintains storeroom programs that ensure inventory and personnel optimization. Lead the Vernon capital program to prioritize capital projects for the Vernon site following corporate capex, capital excellence, and best practice guidelines.

 

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Support and participate in plant HSE initiatives including such things as performing STOP observations and ISMEC counseling. Enforce all site and corporate safety rules and procedures within the plant.  Lead by example. Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all subordinates. Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented. Assure mechanical integrity program is maintained and adhered to. Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities within the departments. Assure all subordinate contractors understand and adhere to plant safety rules and procedures. Represent Syensqo through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for all employees. Support Process Safety Management including Management of Change and ensure incident investigations are conducted in area of responsibility and that action items are completed in a timely manner.

You will bring:

 

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree preferred.   Relevant field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. High school diploma required. Five to ten years working in an industrial facility, preferably in a chemical plant.   The person should have five or more years' experience supervising maintenance and back ground in construction management, project management, and project engineering.  Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between affected departments.   This position requires good computer skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Competitive salary and benefits package The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,880 to $113,600 per year  Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
