Job DescriptionWe are hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for our Advanced Refining Technologies (ART) department at the Curtis Bay, MD facility. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position starting at 6 AM, reporting directly to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
The Curtis Bay plant, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is W. R. Grace’s largest manufacturing site. Operational since the early 1900s, this facility spans approximately 260 acres and employs around 700 people. The plant produces a variety of chemical products, including fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts, hydroprocessing catalysts, polyolefin catalysts, and silicas. These products are essential in industries such as fuel, plastics, food, beverages, biofuels, coatings, and pharmaceuticals.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure a safe working environment for employees and maintain environmental compliance. Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other reporting requirements, including SAP PM information, labor reporting, and document preparation. Review employee performance and continuously work to improve performance and productivity. Collaborate with operations and planners to plan and schedule maintenance work. Adhere to ISO 9000 and GMP standards as required. Evaluate SAP PM requirements and assist in developing necessary systems. Understand, interpret, and administer the union contract agreement. Strive to improve equipment uptime, quality, and speed rates. Aim to reduce maintenance costs and ensure timely reporting of expenditures. Ensure compliance with codes and standards for all work within areas of responsibility. Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications
High school degree or GED Over 5 years of maintenance/construction experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (experience in other industries will be considered) Experience with rotating and stationary equipment maintenance activities Experience with pipe and weldment fabrication Preferred Qualifications
