Maintenance Supervisor 3rd Shift

Job Summary: 

The Maintenance Supervisor, assigned to any shift at Polaris, HSV, is primarily responsible for the safety and conduct of their crew, between 10 and 17 personnel, in the execution of the day’s tasking. The selected candidate will also be familiar with assigning, prioritizing, and scheduling planned maintenance work, including preventive SWIs and project work for improvements or new installations. The maintenance supervisor is the subject matter expert on all machinery in the facility and, as such, has the responsibility of ensuring his team members are always well trained and educated to a level capable of providing that expert level of consultancy and innovation as part of that role.

 Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage Process Equipment projects (i.e. new machine installations, machine upgrades/improvements, process equipment relocations, safety equipment upgrades, and machine restorations)Develop team members to be SMEs in their assigned areas of responsibility, as well as possessing the capability to troubleshoot and repair machinery in any area of the plant.Support all key stakeholder departments (our customers) in the execution of their projects over manufacturing aspects such as – Safety, Quality, Materials, Training, Lean, HR, Production, Scheduling, R&D et al.Conduct weekly audits in Safety, 5S, PM compliance, and breakdown analysis.Develop and propose downtime reduction strategies and submit work orders to track improvements and their value to the organization.Drive the technician team to excellence through disciplined application of the Polaris Standards of Conduct, Good Engineering Practices, Polaris Production System, and the departmental mission and vision.Develop internal leaders and assign them greater and greater responsibilities as they progress.Interface with cross-disciplinary peers from other teams to facilitate communication, cooperation, shift performance improvement, and other cross functional endeavors as necessary to Be the Best industrial maintenance team in industry.

 Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Familiarity with OSHA Safety requirements (LOTO, hot work, energized work, confined space, elevated work, et al)Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Leadership experience preferred.Military advancement through a technical specialization preferred.Bachelor’s degree a plusExpertise in a technical discipline (electrical, electronic/PLC, mechanical, fluid systems)

Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing workspace – fully automated processes (robots, automated welders, automated vehicle carriers), powered industrial vehicle traffic, powder coat and electro-coat paint areas, safety gear (PPE) required, occasional need to have NFPA 70e compliant clothing for working in the vicinity of energized gear.
