THE POSITION: Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery. Oversees staff that performs painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, tool-making, and/or machine shop work. Estimates hours needed to complete tasks, prepares work schedules, assigns work, and inspects completed projects to ensure work meets quality standards.  Responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. Manages maintenance workers on scheduled tasks. Sets the work schedule and assign jobs to technicians. Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Escalates critical issues to management and recommends solutions. Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules. Develops maintenance procedures and schedules. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects. Supply list of tools, supplies, and parts for purchasing to maintenance manager. Keep track of parts and tools inventory. Maintain a 5S program for all departments to support an orderly and clean manufacturing environment. Support manufacturing related initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen/continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain product quality by complying with Quality System policies and procedures. Supports quality initiatives and compliance as it relates to Engineering functions. Hire and maintain a competent staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, maintaining a safe and secure work environment, coaching, and developing staff members. Makes sure the team adheres to safety regulations and policies. Ensure the team follows all company policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in a high volume, process manufacturing environment. Previous maintenance experience. Experience with mechanics, pneumatics, and electrical equipment. Previous experience or exposure to automated machinery operation and repairs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and project management skills. Highly organized and detailed oriented. Able to communicate with people at all levels of the organization in both written and verbal form. Knowledge of modern manufacturing principles, including Lean, Six Sigma, etc. Knowledge and experience with Total Productive Maintenance systems. Preferably, knowledge and experience of the textile goods industry. Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance. Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
