Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor, who reports to the Facilities Director, is committed to providing a safe, high-quality physical environment for the facilities of Gándara Mental Health Center. This position works with staff to establish open communication, support, and accountability per the Facilities Director's direction. The Maintenance Supervisor must have knowledge in general and specialized maintenance repairs. The individual oversees the onsite work of others while responding to changes and proactively handles other tasks assigned due to the agency’s needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Routinely performs inspections of Gándara facilities and documents findings to present to supervisor. Assists with monthly safety inspections. Oversees assigned work of the maintenance staff for the day as needed and reports to the supervisor if changes need to be made. Works alongside maintenance staff to ensure work is completely safe and to Gándara standards and coaches them as needed. Checks maintenance staff’s work to ensure it is complete to the specifications of the job. Assists and Works on projects with minimum supervision. Performs a variety of skilled jobs such as carpentry, minor plumbing, and masonry as needed, including furniture moves. Submits closed work orders with time spent per job. Responds to emergency calls as directed by the supervisor. Respect persons served and their homes as you perform maintenance work. Completes and submits assigned documentation accurately and on time (maintenance logs, time sheets, expense receipts, mileage records, etc.) Attends regular supervisory meetings and covers for the supervisor as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Must be a self-starter, have initiative and flexibility, and be able to perform work with a minimum supervision. Must have 2-5 years’ experience in a similar capacity. Must display sound prioritizing skills, understanding what has to be done vs. that which can be schedule out. Must have good jack-of-all trade’s skills. Must demonstrate safe operation of hand and power tools to include drills and saws Must know how to troubleshoot and display sound judgment as to when the job is beyond his/her capability. Must have a working vehicle Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must have demonstrated ability to be sensitive to any special needs and safety issues. Must be capable of working outside on extreme conditions such as cleaning of snow, heat, cold, or wet conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have two to three years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor Experience with Carpentry, renovating bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, sheetrock, framing, window installation Must have knowledge and experience in inspectional services i.e building, fire, health
