Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing maintenance leadership to improve plant operations, including administering preventive maintenance, coordination of the facility’s reactive maintenance/repair, and implementing capital/construction projects. This position will lead a team of craftspeople to maximize equipment performance and reliability and solve operational problems to contribute to the facility’s success. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the maintenance team’s success of meeting assigned goals, quality standards, and service times while maintaining efficiencies, labor usage, and reducing downtime. Leads a team of maintenance employees in all aspects, including hiring, onboarding/training, engagement, and retention. Ensures jobs are planned, scheduled, and completed in accordance with the established maintenance process and safety guidelines. Use data to implement best practices for continuous improvement driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); recommend and implement procedures to optimize operating efficiencies Champions a culture of safety; ensures the compliance of safety requirements Establishes an environment that is conducive to collaboration and teamwork, promotes positive employee relations and takes steps to prevent or diffuse conflicts Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment Improve maintenance performance through consistent utilization of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and adherence to maintenance best practices and processes Develop and implement strategies to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term plant performance goals Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree (Business or Technical preferred) or 5 years of relevant experience 2 years maintenance management experience, including managing a team Demonstrated working knowledge of an ERP system and Microsoft Office Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Demonstrated ability to multitask.
