We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson, SC. This position will be responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the training and work of all maintenance personnel who maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust the machinery, equipment, and components.
Primary responsibilities include:
Promote an action-oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling, and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.Accountable for safe maintenance activities. Will follow and teach safety systems and procedures to employees and contractors. Will perform regular safety audits.Ensure PMs are accomplished in a timely manner and are to a high standard of quality so that produced goods satisfy all finished product quality standards.Supports and maintains all policies of the company including, but not limited to, GMP, FDA, Health and Safety requirements, Continuous Improvements as well as standard work procedures.Oversees the daily activities of the maintenance department and manages the weekly machine outages.Daily morning and evening checkouts for maintenance issues.Works hands-on with team and others in troubleshooting of all machinery, equipment, and components.Confers with all levels of the organization to coordinate activities of individual departments and communicate pertinent information that may influence operations and/or productivity.Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize plant downtime and maximize safety.Work with Engineering and other functional areas with regards to any proposed changes using the change management system.Responsible for selecting, training and scheduling technicians for work assignments.Monitoring assigned installation, maintenance, and repair activities.Account for all overtime for the hourly technicians.Direct supervision of department personnel including interviewing, hiring, performance review, discipline, and skill assessments.Support and spread the use of WCM tools within the department.Support WCM teams in the development of equipment ledgers and problem solving.Drive 5S in maintenance shop.Analyzes/stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc., in support of continuous improvement of Reliability.Maintains various departmental records, files, reports, and equipment ledgers.The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or related field preferred or 5 years of equivalent maintenance experience in an industrial setting.Requires minimum 3 years direct maintenance supervisory experience in an industrial environment.Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook/e-mail.Must be able to learn and effectively use local business systems and CMMS systems.SAP knowledge preferred.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Detail oriented.Active listening skills.Must be able to learn and effectively use local business systems and CMMS systems.Must be flexible to adapt to changing and varying work requirements.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Ability to team and work with peers and others at various organization levels.Ability to organize and retrieve information, and to handle people tactfully and effectively in situations involving various educational and employment levels.First Quality is committed to protecting information under the care of First Quality Enterprises commensurate with leading industry standards and applicable regulations.
