Maintenance Supervisor
Overview This position has direct supervision of staff and coordinates and oversees daily facilities operations including the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works closely with department coordinator to ensure appropriate completion of demand and preventive maintenance work orders, regulatory compliance is maintained, and system and department goals and initiatives are met. Reviews requests for outside contractors’ repairs, determine necessity, and make recommendations to department manager. Schedule repairs, testing, and inspections performed by outside contractors. Oversee maintenance and repair of all utility systems to ensure uninterrupted patient care and critical operations. Establishes and maintains proficient use of CMMS work management system and Building Automation system. Reviews CMMS procedures and inventories and makes recommendations to department manager for adjustments. Requisitions tools, equipment, supplies and other resources required for continuous facility operations. Directs training of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedure. Holds self and direct reports responsible for following all company and department policies and procedures. Confers with leadership, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of facilities, services, machines and equipment. Participates in preparation and monitoring of department budget. Assures efficient use of manpower and works within budgeted allocation of resources. Acts as liaison with internal customers. Acts as liaison with internal customers. Initiates and delivers corrective action to department staff with guidance from department leadership and human resources. Works with department manager to complete annual department staff performance evaluations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Five or more years' experience in healthcare, preferably mechanical or electrical trades Previous supervisor experience preferred CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Senior Healthcare Facilities Mechanic preferred For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. Level of Supervision Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods. The incumbent must make decisions using independent judgment required in order to adapt to routine situations.
