Maintenance Supervisor
**Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor** **Job Description** The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maximizing the availability of all plant and equipment to ensure the security of production. This role aligns with company operating policies and procedures and ensures compliance with safety, legislative, environmental, and certifying authority requirements. The Maintenance Supervisor will use independent judgment and exercise discretion in executing their duties, and this position requires a high degree of confidentiality. Key responsibilities include maintaining high safety standards, coordinating internal and external safety inspections, and managing maintenance logs and inspections. The role also involves evaluating long-term needs for major projects, securing equipment bids, and providing staff training in safety and maintenance topics. **Responsibilities** + Maximize the availability of all plant and equipment to ensure the security of production. + Maintain high safety standards and coordinate internal and external safety inspections. + Manage maintenance logs and inspections. + Evaluate long-term needs for major projects and secure equipment bids. + Provide staff training in safety and maintenance topics. + Mentor, train, and monitor the team's productivity to department KPIs. **Essential Skills** + Leadership ability. + Mechanical/Electrical aptitude in a manufacturing environment. + 5 years of experience in the industrial maintenance field. + Familiarity with a Union environment. + Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. + Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills. + Team player with the ability to drive change. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. + Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs is a plus. + Ability to lead a multi-task team as a supervisor and in a technical capacity. + Good knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment. + Computer literacy. + May require heavy lifting up to 75lbs. **Why Work Here?** Our company values safety, quality, and service. Additionally, the ERA program allows union members to opt-in for union dues used for political purposes. **Work Environment** This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa, with a 1st shift schedule from 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required as there may be times when you need to come in earlier or stay late. During peak busy seasons, the production floor may ramp up to 80 hours, and weekend pay may be applicable. The environment is a typical tire manufacturing facility with machines from the 40s and some new automated equipment, and it is not temperature controlled. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, safety glasses, and hearing protection when on the production floor.
