JOB SUMMARY\n
Supervises the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on all electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment used and operated at water treatment plants, pump stations and telemetering stations.\n

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n
The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.\n\nSupervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.\nCoordinates, assigns and reviews work; maintains standards; coordinates activities and allocates personnel; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; reviews the work for completeness and accuracy; selects new employees; answers questions; offers training, advice and assistance as needed.\nSupervises, assists, and oversees preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on all electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment used and operated at water treatment plants, pump stations and telemetering stations.\nKeeps records of all corrective and preventive maintenance activities on computer database.\nMaintains an up-to-date inventory of all appropriate facility equipment.\nEnsures subordinates' compliance with safety rules and regulations; ensures safe working conditions.\nCoordinates and schedules work orders and requests with other departments\/divisions, contractors, etc., as necessary.\nReviews flow charts, pressure charts, etc., to monitor equipment performance.\nAssists in monitoring tank levels and maintains sensing equipment.\nSupervises, assists with and performs preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical components and systems, including but not limited to relays, electric starters, electrical and manual valve operators.\nPrepares and develops reports, manuals, records, and performance evaluations of subordinates.\nAssists in the development of the department budget and develops future budget projections for the department. Procures necessary supplies, materials and equipment.\nAssists in developing a needs list for Capital Improvement Projects.\nSupervises and participates in the repair and servicing of plant and pump station electronic transmitters, receivers, elevation and flow signals, pressure signals.\nMaintains an adequate inventory of tools, supplies, parts and equipment.\n\n
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n\nAssists in training new employees in maintenance procedures \nTransfers power to emergency generators and back-up engines as needed. \nPerforms other related duties as required.\nOn call.\n\n
