The La Porte Area Maintenance Supervisor is a key role within the La Porte Area Maintenance organization, providing front line leadership and oversight of the Maintenance teams. They optimize workflows, by managing the maintenance schedule by assigning tasks to technicians and ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of repairs.

The Supervisor provides daily direction and guidance to the mechanical, instrument/electrical and analytical maintenance teams. This role assists the maintenance teams in problem solving that includes equipment issues, safety roadblocks, and other complex maintenance challenges. The Maintenance supervisor is key in ensuring adherence to Air Products, Site specific and Maintenance policies and procedures. This role leads the improvement of twenty multi-disciplined craft personnel by identifying gaps and seeking training opportunities to develop those within the various teams.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Operation Supervisors and Planner to understand daily maintenance priorities and issues.Drive the communication between operations supervision and maintenance front line supervision to help prioritize work and manpower across the La Porte area facilities. Drive the best solutions for the business from a maintenance SAFETY, reliability, and production impact perspective daily.Prioritize, develop, schedule, and communicate all daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance activities.  Interface with these groups to ensure maintenance execution readiness from a maintenance planning/ resourcing and operations equipment readiness perspective.Responsible for communicating and leading in accordance with company vision and core values.Performs field inspections of job sites and work in progress.Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.Provide coaching, develop and provide feedback to front line leadership to improve on leadership skills, technical competency, communication, and resource management. Support the development, progression, coaching and providing feedback for improvement for maintenance technicians.Comply with maintenance performance metrics such as PM compliance, Compliance Management, maintenance backlog, monthly spending vs budget and safety program participation.  Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and very high priority maintenance activities. Stay abreast of policies and procedures and ensure compliance.Interface with technical engineering support teams to drive towards innovative solutions to maintenance issues as well as capital project recommendations for end-of-life assets and design upgrades.Support required leadership audits and safety reviews.Responsible for warehousing activities ensuring materials management. Responsible for inventory management activities for HYCO, ASU and LHY spares inventory stored in the region’s facilities both onsite and offsite.This role is a safety sensitive position.

Required Skills / Abilities:

10+ years in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment with maintenance, and/or operations roles is desired. 5+ years of prior supervisory experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are critical to the position.Strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad-based technical skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills and business acumen.Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills are a must.  A project management skill set as well as experience creating and implement structured work processes are a plus for this role.Prior budgetary management and development experience is a plus.Strong SAP skills is a requirement.

Education and Licensing Requirements:

Degree in technical trade school for instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, or Military technical training is a plus. Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.
