Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Analyst, Manufacturing Maintenance , Maintenance Supervisor opening to join our Operations organization in Amana, IA. Amana, Iowa is the North American location where Whirlpool’s premium line refrigerators are built. This role is onsite.
Functional Overview Reporting to the Senor Manager Maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor is a key leadership position that directs and is responsible for the assembly and production operation. This position ensures the safe, efficient production through customer focus and performance in a manner consistent with achievement of the plant vision and its goals and objectives. This position is a key decision maker and escalation point for maintenance issues or decisions across the assigned shift. You will collaborate with engineering resources and other support functions (operations, safety, materials, finance, etc) on short and long term improvements to production lines.
The Maintenance Supervisor, internally known as Maintenance Analyst, is a leader over a mixed team of maintenance personnel. This person is responsible for direction and management of this group to prevent unplanned downtime and increase the efficiency of our 2M Sq. Ft. manufacturing plant through our systematic WCM methodology. This role will work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information and to work a flexible schedule.
This is a full time 40 hour work shift on the weekends
Schedule:
Friday 9am -1pm
Saturday, Sunday and Monday 5am -5pm.
Your responsibilities will includeWork with local site Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs. Ensure that all the department exceeds or meets the OSHA, state, federal &; local rules and regulations.Handle multiple internal and externally sponsored projects and daily activities, manage to and meet deadlines, and develop &; track plans on how to accomplish departmental and distribution goals. . Develop strategies / action plans to move from breakdown maintenance to proactive maintenance for equipment to improve the efficiency and reliability of the equipment. Support the Operations team by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric. Develop and design innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors and be on call for emergenciesDevelop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations leadershipFacilitate technical and safety training, as well as help to develop professional development of departmental facilities associatesParticipate in and support efficiency improvement Kaizen activities for the site, as well as the network when neededDevelop capital spending plans, facilitate cross-functional project planning and perform cost analysis. Own and promote excellent housekeepingCandidates must have the ability to provide specific, enriched feedback to enhance individual performance, and provide associates with written performance appraisals including discipline and up to terminationMaintain site morale and customer satisfaction by keeping the customer in mind and by keeping the interests of the company at heartPerform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to timeHas direct management responsibility in assigned areas including employee relations, team building, performance management and professional developmentEnsure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards and methodsMinimum requirements
High School Diploma or GED3+ years experience in manufacturing facilities and equipment (automation, electrical, mechanical) maintenancePreferred skills and experiences
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering) 1+ years of people leadership experience Experience with the Experience with World Class Manufacturing, or relevant experience Lean Manufacturing experience Professional Engineering CertificationsComputer skills including MS Office and GoogleGrow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
