Summary

Teledyne Battery Products currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor in our maintenance department.  The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership and support to employees in the Maintenance environment. This position plans and assigns work to minimize machine downtime, increase equipment throughput, and improve production quality that’s impacted by equipment. Implements policies and procedures, recommends improvements in maintenance methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position is a hands-on role and is considered a Working Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Developing, recommending, and implementing problem solving solutions to improve maintenance methods & practices thus improving production equipment performance, while fostering teamwork needed to be successful.Frequently inspecting manufacturing equipment to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance.Implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and other maintenance best practices and methodologies.Developing, implementing, and improving safety programs such as Lock Out / Tag Out and Equipment Safety (e.g., guarding, light curtains).Establish equipment performance KPI’s. This to include daily and weekly reporting of equipment performance and downtime related issues.Implementing and managing a CMMS maintenance software package (e.g., MicroMain system) for maintenance related activities that includes work orders for unplanned maintenance and planned maintenance (preventative maintenance schedules).Ensures maintenance work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.Equipment Asset Management and other equipment related documentation and manuals.Manages maintenance shop spare parts inventory and cleanliness.Develop a training program for the maintenance team.Evaluate employee competencies and implement personnel development plans to successfully meet existing and future requirements.Analyze site requirements to determine maintenance processes, tools, and human resource requirements.Determine work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources and resolves problems as they occur.Works effectively and communicate with all levels in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.Provides on-going training to new and existing production employees during first month of employment, or transferring/working in a different department.Leads area with a “Safety First” mentality to ensure all work performed meets regulatory requirements and is in compliance with plant policies and procedures.Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other maintenance technicians

Supervisory Responsibilities                                 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications 

Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and at least three years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Understanding of facilities and manufacturing operations and its customersTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills:   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:   

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be knowledgeable in using software conducive to presenting analytical results, such as charts, graphs, and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

        Other Essential Duties

Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

    

      Other Skills and Abilities

Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/KaizenKnowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)

  

Salary Range:

$77,000.00-$102,600.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
