Maintenance Supervisor (R&C) - Day Shift

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Ring & Cylinder (R&C) team. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, management and accountability for a team of maintenance leads and technicians in alignment with the company’s objectives, core values, and safety standards.
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor – R&C
Location: Winsted, MN
Salary Range: $70,000 – $87,000 per year
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Friday
Shift Differential: 1st shift – N/A
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
+ Provides day-to-day work direction to the maintenance team, focused on maintaining equipment uptime, preventative maintenance schedules for production equipment in alignment with Company goals and core values.
+ Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other leaders
+ Adjusts or recommend enhancements in day-to-day department processes
+ Share and exchange relevant information with both internal and external parties to reach solutions
+ Maintains direct relationships with 3rd party support vendors
+ Prioritizes tasks based on urgency and importance
+ Assists team with direction with diagnosing and troubleshooting production equipment
+ May partner with engineering team to monitor production equipment performance and efficiency
+ Provide regular updates to management on maintenance status and issues
+ Provides work direction and ensures all team members are trained and cross train in accordance to work instructions/standard operating procedures and customer requirements
+ Provides leadership to employees in department including: hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling and corrective actions
+ Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within and among work groups in accordance with company policies
+ Conducts start-up meetings; provides visual insights to team members
+ Ensures all inspection and work order signoffs are being met
+ Promote a positive team environment; drives inclusion
+ Responds to Team Lead support with escalation for employee questions and concerns
+ Communicates management directives including policies; provides clarity of policies as necessary
+ Audits processes
+ Wear and ensure all team members wear proper PPE while on the production floor
+ Establish and sustain a safe and hazard free workplace through processes and procedures
+ Support and encourage safety recognition amongst team members; participate in safety recognition at tier meetings
+ Monitor and update timecards in ADP or ensure proper delegation to Team Lead
+ Report and investigate safety incidents and near misses; provide incident and near-miss updates during Tier 3 meetings
+ Inform team members of safety updates, processes/procedures, and policy changes
+ Support Team Leads with onboarding and training new hires
Role Qualifications as a Maintenance Supervisor:
+ Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent knowledge of technical and operational maintenance within in manufacturing setting
+ Prior experience providing direction and building a high performing team
+ Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
+ Understanding and working knowledge of a manufacturing environment
+ Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, and Word
+ Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English
+ Ability to effectively work with others and lead in a team environment
+ Ability to meet timelines
+ Desire to reinforce safety requirements
+ Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems, make decisions, and direct action
+ Demonstrated ability to read and understand required maintenance manuals, blueprints, project timelines, and engineering documentation
+ Capacity to effectively and professionally adapt to changing work priorities
+ Ability to work well with all employees and earn mutual respect
+ Accept and apply on the job training to advance your skill level
