Maintenance Supervisor Trainee - Fast Tracker
Opportunity summary: As a Fast Tracker - Supervisor Trainee, you will learn to be responsible for learning all aspects of maintenance around converting or corrugating equipment. You will be responsible for following L&D and OPS resources to train our union team members and document the results. We are always responsible for our maintenance team's safety, quality, and performance. You will identify opportunities within the department to improve performance and execution, you will be coordinate and manage preventative and repair efforts of the hourly team, and lead efforts to improve equipment up time. This is an hourly nonunion role.
You will impact WestRock by directing and training the hourly maintenance techs. Your development will include learning to:
\u2022 Assess technical talent on the team, make recommendations where to put training resources to improve equipment uptime
\u2022 Leverage our L&D team to help develop plans for hourly techs to get to the next level, using internal and external resources
\u2022 Follow L&D guidelines to train hourly techs on specific maintenance tasks and document the results
\u2022 Assist, when necessary, with daily work orders, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
\u2022 Help hire a best-in-class maintenance team
\u2022 Become a JDE subject matter expert
\u2022 Manage technician performance and downtime of machines by troubleshooting and preventing issues that could cause downtime or breaks and resolving issues in timely fashion, and coaching them to complete repairs themselves
\u2022 Work to coach our team to ensure equipment downtime is fully utilized and scheduled to optimize the maintenance work that can be performed while the machine is down
\u2022 Assist with accident/incident investigation for any incidents that occur in the department
\u2022 Set an example by utilizing and helping to enforce the Maintenance Department\u2019s Standard Operating Procedures
\u2022 Establish and follow up on individual goals and evaluate work performance for direct reports
\u2022 Develop effective partnerships with plant hourly employees to improve overall plant production to help them troubleshoot equipment
\u2022 Assist with the review and updating of department training material
What you need to succeed:
\u2022 High School diploma or G.E.D.
\u2022 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience
\u2022 Proven supervisory track record
\u2022 Demonstrated leadership ability
\u2022 A high regard for safety
\u2022 Strong communication, and interpersonal skills leveraged to motivate stakeholders and achieve alignment across the organization
\u2022 Ability to learn proprietary software programs
