Saint-Gobain in Wayne, NJ is for you! - We offer competitive hourly rate, matching 401k, bonus, retirement plan, benefits start day one, tuition reimbursement, growth opportunities and so much more. - We are looking for a **Maintenance Support Assistant, 1st shift-7am-3:30p** Job Scope: Responsible for making minor repairs to plant equipment and property, routine facility maintenance, operate forklifts and other powered equipment, including removing and dumping of scrap metal, pallets, cardboard and other recyclables and coordinating pickups, must be available for emergency call-ins to ensure optimum production capacity and assist in other duties of the maintenance department and assist maintenance mechanics.- Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory, inventory including researching/ordering parts and ordering/scheduling services, creating requisitions, and collecting signed work tickets, invoices, reconciling purchase orders with invoices and service records. Responsibilities: + Maintain cleanliness around maintenance shop including equipment work area as per company’s 5S policy and guidelines. + Removes trash and recyclables steels, papers, and aluminum from assigned areas. + Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency, and safety. + Shovel or sweep snow from sidewalks and apply de-icer when necessary. + Clean and maintain tools and work area as scheduled or as needed. + Assist Maintenance Mechanics either purchasing spare parts or help in machine related maintenance. + Perform any handy works assigned by immediate Supervisor. + Notifies supervisor in case of security breaches or other problems. + Participate in self-development and training of others. + Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor. + Perform shift turnover (1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 1st) regarding the equipment problem/s encountered and report to immediate Supervisor or to Maintenance Lead Person. + Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspection on equipment per SOPs and report to immediate supervisor any abnormal observation/s using work order request. + Follow Maintenance SOP and Preventive Maintenance SOP. + Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices. + Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent. + Able to Operate Forklift and power tools and machine. + Able to operate independently and as part of a team. + Basic command of the English language, written and verbal. + Able to read and follow SOPs, labels, instructions, and SDS’s as appropriate. + Able to operate janitorial equipment necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. + Knowledgeable in personal computer operation. + Familiarity with manufacturing processes and machine equipment. + Familiarity with the electrical and maintenance tools. + Good math skills.
