... WHAT YOU'LL DO: Ensure that facility and equipment is kept in good repair and working order.
Responsibilities:
Serves in repairing minor electrical malfunctions and installing new equipment.
May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems, and in opening clogged drains.
Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
May operate hand saw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.
Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
May perform minor repairs to air conditioning system as required, and see to general maintenance of system.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor's instructions.
General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades.
Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment.
Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
Computer knowledge, Working knowledge of pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of general repairs, including at least one year's experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning; OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
May be required to hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license or a commercial license.
Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
Computer knowledge, Working knowledge of pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
