Maintenance tech

This role will perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks, make repairs and modifications to equipment and repair the facility as needed.

What You Will Do:

Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, centrifugal, and positive displacement pumpsTroubleshoot and repair electrical motors, timers, transformers, and controlsTroubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems, read schematics, and use electrical testing equipmentWork with Programmable Logic Controls and preventative maintenance CMMS systemsPerform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks, and make repairs and modifications to equipment and facilitiesAssist with root cause and breakdown analysisEnsure that all guards and safety devices for the equipment are operational and the piece of equipment is safe to return to service Complete work as assigned to ensure efficient, cost effective, and timely repairs to production equipmentManage assigned inventory to acceptable levelsParticipate in continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance programEnsure all data related to preventative and corrective maintenance activities is correct and documentedCommunicate effectively with team members and internal customersDemonstrate a working knowledge of plant safety rules, safe working methods, and good housekeeping practicesOther duties as assigned

Position Details:

Plant location: Joliet, ILWork week and shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Week 1: M, T, F, Sa. Week 2: Su, W, Th) Compensation: starts at $38.00 / hour

Minimum Qualifications:  

High School Diploma or GED  2 years experience in an industrial maintenance environment OR completion of an industrial maintenance or associated degree program2 years of experience with electronic and PLC based applications in an industrial environment OR equivalent higher educationNo immigration sponsorship offered for this role  

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift/carry 50 poundsMust be able to pass a drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, boiler operationsCertificate in Industrial Electrical/ Electronic or Industrial Maintenance Technology from Joliet Junior College or equivalent  Able to work in difficult situations such as confined spaces, heat and in high placesExperience in pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, utilities, water treatment, sustainability, alignment, and riggingExperience in a TPM and Lean Environment
