Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening.
Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the lodge’s facilities, equipment, and systems. This position involves performing routine and preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and troubleshooting various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. The Maintenance Technician will contribute to the comfort and safety of both employees and guests, ensuring that Zion Lodge operates smoothly and that its surroundings are well-maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs on lodge facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
Conduct routine inspections of lodge buildings and equipment, identifying issues, and completing repairs in a timely manner.
Address maintenance requests from guests and employees efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest experience.
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to avoid breakdowns and ensure the longevity of systems and equipment.
Perform basic troubleshooting for appliances, heating and cooling systems, lighting, and other mechanical systems.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure the maintenance workshop is kept organized and clean.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls promptly and perform necessary repairs or provide temporary solutions until a permanent fix is possible.
Ensure safety standards are adhered to, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and grounds as needed, including minor landscaping, snow removal, and storm response.
Maintain logs of maintenance and repair activities, including completed work orders and equipment serviced.
Communicate regularly with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager to report issues, request supplies, and update on progress.
Support special projects or installations as required by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.

Work Location:
Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.
Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of maintenance experience in a commercial, residential, or hospitality setting preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license.
