Maintenance Technician

Chicago, IL 

Two (2) Full-Time Positions Available.

Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Saturday and Sunday ON CALL as needed. 

Pay Rate COE: $23.00 - $25.00 PH

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Performs minor routine repairs and maintenance requests of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.) Cleans and inspects boiler; treats water with proper chemicals. Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks, and closets; installs window blinds cabinet installations, countertops installation, and lighting fixture replacement. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of schedules, maintenance procedures, and janitorial inspections. Repairs electrical equipment, control circuits, replace faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment, electrical locks, and control panels to maintain building security. Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; plumbing, carpentry, and painting building structures. Performs outside custodial duties, such as snow removal, including early arrival when an anticipated need arises. Use hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs. Perform mandatory overtime as required. Be available for on-call emergencies. The ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Provide excellent customer service to the customer management team, staff, and guests. It is absolutely forbidden to accept side employment from the customer’s management team, staff members, or facility guests unless expressly authorized with written confirmation from your BSA Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
