Maintenance Tech - Manufacturing - 3rd Shift
MI WINDOWS AND DOORS 2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Tech - Manufacturing  Monday - Friday 2pm - 11:00pm  $27.00 -32.00 or more - Plus $1.50 for SD - Based on Experience 

 

The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work on various types of manufacturing equipment primarily related to production to ensure that production goals and customer expectations are met. This position services all areas of the organization by ensuring safe operations in an efficient manner. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The scope of decision-making is broad within established parameters, conferring with skilled trades on more complex matters. 

 KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs semi-skilled and skilled mechanical and electrical repair/installation (e.g., fixtures, valves, tooling, relays, and plc adjustments) & assists in skilled electrical & mechanical repair &/or installation Performs semi-skilled & skilled repair or replacement on doors, walls, facilities structures, and assists skilled trades persons with more complex or large-scale projects Performs moderate steel fabrication and wood carpentry Performs minor janitorial work as needed, e.g., over-filled toilet cleanup, change trash bags, snow removal, etc. Gives work instruction to Maintenance Helpers.  May provide input regarding job performance to Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor Performs preventative maintenance duties and TPM activities Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities.  May take on special projects because of Kaizen events. Stocking or inventory of parts as well as communicates with vendors

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING

High School Diploma or equivalent required and proficiency with basic Math and Writing Skills Experience in mechanical and basic electrical in a manufacturing plant  Expose to Blueprint reading Experience working as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing plant is required. 

 ESSENTIAL ABILITIES

Knowledge and experience in basic electrical wiring, mechanical and plumbing repair is required. Additional experience is preferred. Proficiency using both power and hand tools required Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and be comfortable working with computers Must pass MIWD forklift training & man lift operator training Formal training in welding, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand on a concrete floor.  Employees are required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; bending, turning or twisting; pushing; and talk and hear.  The employee must repetitively lift, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds unaided.  75 pounds or more must be lifted with assistance.  Certain positions require the ability to climb a ladder to reach materials needed for assembly.
