Are you skilled in mechanical maintenance and eager to be part of a dynamic and inclusive team? We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Tech 1 to provide essential support for our winery and production operations. Under general supervision, you will be a key player in ensuring our cutting-edge equipment operates seamlessly. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting machinery issues, replacing or repairing defective parts, reassembling and testing equipment, and responding to emergency maintenance calls. You will also disassemble malfunctioning equipment, examine and test mechanisms, and interpret technical documents for accurate repairs.

 

In this role, you will inspect, test, and calibrate instruments, making necessary adjustments to meet specified standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, seek continuous improvement opportunities, and perform your work to the highest quality. Your duties will also encompass basic electrical installation, plumbing, piping operations, machining, welding, servicing pumps, and troubleshooting alarms related to key winery systems. Preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services will be required for various equipment, including cellar processing, bottling line, filtration, de-stemmers, presses, and crush pits.

 

Safety is a top priority; you will promote occupational safety standards, provide feedback on safety performance, and adhere to shop safety and housekeeping practices. You'll operate electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely, and may need to drive to various winery sites to pick up parts, supplies, and equipment. Additionally, you'll provide general facility maintenance and servicing for other departments, including routine inspections. Join us as a Maintenance Tech 1 and help us maintain the excellence of our winery operations!

What You Will Need:

High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 1 year of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

Experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial mechanical or automotive environment.

Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.

Required to work assigned shift Monday - Saturday (day, swing, and graveyard) and Sundays and overtime as needed.

Required to conduct work at heights.

Required to lift and carry equipment that weighs up-to 50 pounds.

Required to work in a tight and confined space.

Required to provide own basic hand tools.

Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

 Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart: 

•    High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-yearb Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 3 years of mechanical or automotive maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

 Industrial trade experience to include Refrigeration and HVAC.

Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation.

Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility.

Operates well in a team setting.

Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater systems.

Experience maintaining and repairing large production equipment.

Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel at a basic level.

Experience writing reports and procedures manuals.

Skilled in reading electrical schematics; possess PLC skills.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation:

Hiring Salary Range Posted: $29.23 -$39.42/ hour 

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
