Job DescriptionOur Machesney Park, IL location is looking for a Maintenance/Machine Repair Technician for Cold Heading and Thread Rolling Machines who is interested in continuing to grow in their maintenance career. Knowledge of electrical components, high and low voltage, hydraulics, welding/fabricating and mechanically skilled to be able to dismantle machine components is required. The hours are 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions in equipment, repair replace defective equipment as necessary.Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notify appropriate personnel.Perform routine maintenance on equipment including machinery, cranes, forklift, etc.Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools, welder, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, etc.Advanced knowledge for use of, Milling Machine, Brake press, Drill press, and general machine shop equipment.Test water supply daily, maintain waste water treatment equipment and process.Repair machinery re; lathe, mill, drill press, and other tools as required.Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues.Other duties may include: janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, carpentry.Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc.Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings.Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues.Perform other duties as assignedQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5+ years maintenance experienceAssociates degree from a Technical College preferredApprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferredAbility to complete basic mathematical calculationsForklift Truck Experience requiredStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to complete routine production and quality reports.Ability to lift up to 50 poundsUnderstanding and compliance with safety rules and regulationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
