About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment, maximizing quality, uptime, rate, and yield. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to identify and resolve both electrical and mechanical issues. A high attention to detail and the ability to follow safety procedures is essential to succeed in this role.
Shift: Full-time, 2nd Shift, Working Hours Either 3PM-1AM (10H) or 5PM-5AM (12H)
Pay: 32.45 Hourly + Production Incentive
What You’ll Do
• Ensures equipment is maintained electrically, following all safety procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).
• Verifies that all guards and safety equipment are in place and operational before turning equipment over to operators.
• Monitors inventory levels of equipment, parts, and supplies, placing orders and verifying receipts.
• Uses manual and computerized maintenance management systems to monitor, inspect, and report on equipment status.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings to repair equipment, machinery, and systems.
• Initiates troubleshooting techniques to resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, notifying supervisors when necessary.
• Performs breakdown, preventive maintenance, and changeover tasks on production equipment.
• Reports safety, quality, operational, or output issues to the supervisor when unable to correct.
• Diagnoses problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision instruments.
• Fabricates repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Operates powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes.
• Assists in continuous improvement projects and quality problem-solving.
• Complies with all OSHA safety standards, including hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomics.
• Leads and promotes health and safety work practices according to regulatory agencies and company policy.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Who You Are
• 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar maintenance role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship or journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices, and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
• Ability to communicate in English and perform basic math calculations.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
• Must pass job-related testing and successfully complete an employment physical and drug screen.
• Ability to work well with others and contribute to team efforts.
Physical Abilities
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach in all directions.
• Other physical requirements as needed for the job.

Compensation & Benefits
Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
Base Salary Range: $67,496 ($32.45 Hourly)
