Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Overview We are seeking a full-time Operations Maintenance Technician 3 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics and repair of the manufacturing, warehouse and facilities operations including maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, improving equipment and preventive maintenance while defining general approach and specific solutions to technical problems. Essential Functions Provide technical input to equipment and processes including operational processes. Handle complex troubleshooting, maintenance and preventative maintenance to support Operations Demonstrate ability to use a variety of power & hand tools Provide immediate response for line down situations, including after hours and weekends Plan or improve preventative maintenance methods, update and maintain preventative maintenance work instructions and maintenance records, and independently perform preventative maintenance on equipment Apply expertise to continuously improve equipment and processes and review/analyze processes looking for improvement opportunities Ability to work and/or direct in conjunction with service providers Assist in determining feasibility of project goals/ objectives and accurately predict time needed to complete tasks at hand Complete complex work orders and process instructions Define general approaches as well as specific solutions to technical problems Provide technical input to equipment and processes including operational costs Evaluate equipment for new processes Analyze data to predict possible quality trends and implement mitigation Provide justification for new equipment and assist with design of custom equipment as necessary for Garmin specific applications Completely execute Lock Out/Tag Out of equipment and coaches, mentors and trains other team members on the Lock Out/Tag Out process Demonstrate the ability to provide mentoring of other Procedures, Policies and Trade skills Provide reliable technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and identifies/fixes problems in a variety of technical areas Coordinate between Planning, Purchasing, Production and Process Engineering Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and pushes/ pulls 200 pounds, climbs ladders, squats, kneels, crawls, stands an entire shift and walks long distances throughout the facility in the performance of essential functions Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and pushes/ pulls 200 pounds, climbs ladders, squats, kneels, crawls, stands an entire shift and walks long distances throughout the facility in the performance of essential functions Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree in a technical related field AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience OR completion/certification of a qualified technical trade program AND a minimum of 4 years relevant experience Demonstrates knowledge of the following: the ability to oversee contractors read blueprints/electrical drawings/schematics troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/controls equipment and plumbing piping/pipefitting, repair Pneumatic compressors system, troubleshoot and repair pump & associated motor and controls operation Capable of mentoring and evaluating Maintenance Level 1 and 2 Demonstrates good judgement in setting schedules/risk taking Must be able to independently determine general approach and specific solutions to technical problems Takes significant lead in planning/performing projects under the direction of a supervisor Demonstrates positive customer service to both internal and external customers Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and pushes/ pulls 200 pounds, climbs ladders, squats, kneels, crawls, stands an entire shift and walks long distances throughout the facility in the performance of essential functions Desired Qualifications Technical School Certification in Electronics, Industrial or Maintenance Technology or related facilities degree Refrigerant license Electrical Journeyman license 5+ years related experience Experience with automated assembly, testing, and conveying equipment Experience and knowledge of PLC programming for conveying equipment Ability to program frequency drive Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
