**Job Description:** Hobart Brothers, an Illinois Tool Works Company, is a recognized leader among aluminum welding manufacturers worldwide. The team in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking to add a **Maintenance Technician to the 3rd shift** . Typical weekly schedule is **Sunday to Thursday 11 PM to 7 AM** , overtime as needed. In this role you will work closely with the maintenance team and operators to troubleshoot repairs and perform preventative maintenance on machinery throughout the facility. **How you will make an impact:** + Review and prioritize fix-it tickets for machine repairs + Perform machine repairs + Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems + Conduct preventative maintenance tasks + Machine/fabricate machine parts using drill press, lathe, mill, welding, etc. + Snow removal **What you need to do to be successful in this role:** **Technical Skills** + **Troubleshooting Expertise:** Possess mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills to maintain equipment efficiency. + **Precision Machining:** Demonstrate proficiency in measurement, layout, drilling, reaming, threading, welding, and cutting for fabrication and repair tasks. + **Mechanical Knowledge:** Understand mechanical drive systems, bearing maintenance, and replacement procedures. + **Workplace Safety:** Ability to work at heights using proper safety equipment and protocols. + **Technical Proficiency:** Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and prints accurately. + **Equipment Operation:** Utilize test and measurement tools such as multimeters, calipers, and micrometers effectively. + **Electrical Systems:** Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and electrical control systems is a plus. **Teamwork & Collaboration** + **Strong Interpersonal Skills:** Must be a team player and self-starter with the ability to work independently.
