Maintenance Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure proper operation of injection molding machinery and secondary processing equipment by completing repairs and preventive maintenance on items such as electrical and hydraulic motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and material handling systems; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.Collaborate with production staff and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot issues.Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.Understand, diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.Work safely and effectively with electrical panels and control systems, including high voltage/low voltage systems. Perform PLC trouble shooting and problem solve with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.Read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.Provide support for both production and facilities equipment. Perform preventive maintenance as required by the equipment manufacturer or as established by CPI.Follow company safety protocols and observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs).Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment.  10-15 years’ experience preferred.Preference given to candidates who have education and strong practical experience in the areas of electrical, mechanical, control systems and hydraulics.Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics.Must have demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills – both Mechanical and Electrical.Demonstrated experience with machine repair; experience with CNC machining equipment ideal.Strong mechanical aptitude.Experience with plant chilled water systems a plus.Must be motivated to work without constant supervision in a group setting with ability to provide assistance to peers.
